Generally bowlers end protection nets (Sports hall bowler end netting) are positioned approximately 1m away from the end wall where the bowlers are starting the run up. The netting is as standard white 16z, 50mm mesh with a 3m high white canvas sight screen hung from lanyard cords, which supports the sight screen, prolonging the life of the nets. The bowlers end net should protect the end wall and show a white back drop for the facing batsman when they are in the cricket net bays. For a double cricket bay unit with 3m wide cricket bays the bowlers end net should extend to at least 9m so as to prevent cricket balls straying out and causing injury. For a typical sports hall set up where there is 2 x double bay cricket units the bowlers end net should cover the full width of the sports hall and typically at around 18m.
